From Desert to Forest: 8 Unbuilt Houses Designed as Contemporary Retreats
This project explores living in close relationship with a powerful desert landscape without being exposed to it. The house is designed as a protected, inward-looking volume, where architecture moderates light, scale, and climate. Interior and exterior spaces are organized around calm, human-scaled environments that support rest and presence. Rather than amplifying the desert, the project focuses on creating a controlled, quiet living environment that allows people to slow down and remain connected to their surroundings.
